SUMMARY

Tasks required by this position include the ability to administer experimental protocol in the conduct of research projects to quantify and assess human performance data in a variety of laboratory or field conditions or collected from existing data. Requires the ability to enter, download, and manage experimental data. Requires the ability to work both as a member of a team and independently with moderate oversight.  Requires the ability to follow detailed instructions of research task lead to support the development of specialized measurement instruments/surveys, databases, and reports required for various research projects. Requires very good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Experience in a research setting and/or knowledge of aviation research is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Conduct literature search and review
      • Collect data, enter data, and manage databases
      • Assist with content and development of data collection materials and surveys
      • Assist with development of project-related reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
      • Conduct experimental protocol for collecting data from human participants
      • Verify data and report accuracy and validity
      • Scan and/or enter data
      • Other research and administrative duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors in Engineering Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Applied Psychology, Applied Social Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related program where research in social science is evident and is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong computer software (Microsoft Office) skills required. Knowledge of Statistics for the Social Sciences (SPSS) or Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily performed in a climate controlled office setting.
