SUMMARY

The Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) is the medical certification, education, research, and occupational medicine wing of the Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) under the auspices of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA’s) Office of Aviation Safety (AVS). The mission of the Aerospace Human Factors Research Division of CAMI (AAM- 500), located at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC), in Oklahoma City, OK.

The mission of the Aerospace Human Factors Research Division is to promote civil aerospace safety through excellence in aerospace human factors (HF) research. The Division conducts research that focuses on improving human performance, efficiency, and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Tasks required by this position include the ability to support research teams by performing high-level administrative tasks associated with the conduct of research projects assessing human performance.

Requires the ability to work as a member of a team and independently with oversight. Requires the ability to follow detailed instructions to support the development of specialized measurement instruments/surveys, databases, and reports required for various research projects.

Requires expertise in Microsoft Windows applications to perform data entry, use formulas and filters, and sort data in Excel and create, edit, and format documents in Word. A qualified applicant must have a high level of attention to detail and the ability to perform quality control and their work and the work of team members. Typing and 10-key data skills are required.

  • Assist with development of project-related surveys, reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
  • Verify data and report accuracy and validity
  • Perform data entry
  • Scan and/or copy documents
  • Transcribe audio transcription and/or record meeting minutes
  • Maintain research database, verify accuracy, and validity of data
  • Other research and administrative duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory/management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma plus 2 years directly related experience; or
  • Associates plus 1 year directly related experience..

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Strong typing skills and 10-key data entry required.
  • Knowledge of statistics for the social science is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting.
