SUMMARY

The Administrative Deputy State Surgeon/Site Lead position is a highly responsible position that provides contracted employee guidance and oversight to the GA ARNG for all Non-clinical Case Management support services and soldier Medical Readiness support services per the Program Manager and CNHS policy and guidance. While Case Management primarily focuses on catastrophic illness or injury in the military setting, Case Management practices are also intensely directed at addressing chronic conditions that are more prevalent in the general patient population. Case management can affect patient outcomes through proactive interventions across multiple healthcare settings. Additionally, case management is expected to engage community resources and facilitate ongoing and consistent patient education.

The MHS has three primary goals for Case Management:

  • Improve the care, management, and transition of recovering Service members.
  • Broaden the application of CM to include those with complex and at-risk needs before the Soldier requires complex care.
  • Evaluate the impact of case management on the quality of military health care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative Deputy State Surgeon (ADSS) Services Includes the following:

  • Accountability for all contract employees work schedules, leave tracking and managerial oversight.
  • Consolidate medical readiness metrics by MSC weekly and monthly with greater than 95% accuracy IAW Appendix A.
  • Maintain approved list of users to medical databases weekly.
  • Validates resourcing of staffing for medical SRP events monthly no later than 14 days before event greater than 95% of time.
  • Ensure all contracted employees are fully trained with updated required certifications
  • The primary work location is at CNGC in Marietta, GA but travel throughout the State may be required.
  • Assisting with Case Management and Medical Readiness functions as needed.
  • Performs other job related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Program Manager

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BA or BS minimum. MA or MS desired
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Medical Office Management or Program Management
  • High proficiency with training, learning and using MS Office computer programs
  • Prefer background with Army or Army National Guard non-clinical medical case management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Contractor employee should possess the following knowledge/skills:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • The ability to effectively use Power Point, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook
  •  Highly proficient to Operate a personal computer to input, store, retrieve and manipulate data for various reports as required by this PRS. Experience with computerized client management systems is required.
  • Use various software programs to maintain database files and prepare reports, including but not limited to the following ARNG web-based electronic data systems via MODS: Medically Non-Deployable (MND)/e-Profile, Medical Data Protection System (MEDPROS), MEDPROS Web Data Entry (MWDE), Soldier Patient Locator (SPL), Warrior Transition Report (WTR), DENCLASS, AVS, HRR, ePHA/MHA, eCase and other modules as applicable or as they become available.
  • Experience with the military, such as prior military service or military family member or military family volunteer, is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrates competency in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care provided including patient/family education.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities including professional verbal and written communication skills, flexibility to prioritize complex situations, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates strong team management and organizational leadership skills.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a full-time position that overseas all aspects of the GA ARNG contracted non-clinical case management support services and medical readiness support services in support of the different Case Management teams as needed in support of PHA(s) and or personnel needs.  This position works closely with the CNHS Program manager and the GA ARNG contract COR.
