SUMMARY

CNHS is looking for a PRN (Part-Time) Audiologist to support the CNHS/ GA ARNG Medical Readiness contract by performing hearing evaluations at PHA, SRP, and as needed events at the Clay National Guard site in Marietta, GA and other locations in GA. This position is part of a 7 Audiologist team that can work up to 103 hours each during each 6 month contract. Travel is required.

The GAARNG recognizes the importance of Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) as related to overall Readiness necessary to support Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP), training, and Mobilization. In 2016, the Department of the Army National Guard established a goal of 90% in overall Medical Readiness Classification (MRC) 1 and 2, MRC 3 at less than 8%, and MRC 4 at less than 2%. This goal reinforces Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 6025.19 dated June 9, 2014 that focuses on a comprehensive plan to achieve IMR and track the IMR status of all Military Service Members (SM).

Place of Performance: The primary service locations will be:

Clay National Guard Center (CNGC) in Marietta, GA, Oglethorpe Armory in Ellenwood, GA,

Macon Russell Armory in Macon, GA,

Fort Stewart Georgia (FSGA) in Hinesville, GA,

Armed Forces Reserve Center (AFRC) building in Columbus, GA.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Licensed and credentialed professional to provide a comprehensive array services related to the prevention of hearing loss and the audiology identification, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of persons with impairment of auditory and vestibular function. Must be accredited by the ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association). Contractor shall be held liable and is responsible for ensuring and verifying the appropriate level of Credentialing /Privileging (Licensure, Diploma, background checks, etc.) for all contact providers in support of any GAARNG event. Required to perform clinical support for a minimum of 50 to 500 Soldiers for a maximum of 250 Soldiers at each location per day.
  • The objective is for a Georgia licensed Audiology provider which is accredited by the ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) to conduct annual hearing evaluations, SPRINT testing and audiology examinations for Service Members who have a significant hearing threshold shift or for Service Members (SMs) who qualify as a H3 category in accordance with AR 40?501 and DA PAM 40?501 set forth by the National Guard Bureau of the Surgeon General. These services shall be provided for an undetermined number of soldiers at a minimum of one (1) of four (4) training sites that frequently are operating on the same weekend and one Thursday per month. Services required:
  • Perform hearing evaluations for the GA ARNG Service Member who is pre?identified as an H3 or test currently as an H3 in accordance with AR 40?501 and DA PAM 40?501 for an undetermined number of soldiers at locations throughout the State.
  • The contractor shall conduct examinations in an HIPAA, Privacy Act and OSHA compliant government owned armory.
  • Exam results shall be entered into the MODS/MEDCHART module of MODS or an applicable substitute and be provided to the Deputy State Surgeon of the GA ARNG.
  • The provider shall document the results on the same day examinations are performed.
  • Annotate and enter services into the Speech Recognition of Noise Test (SPRINT), Chronological Record of Medical Care, Comprehensive Audiological Evaluation form and/or appropriate document.
  • The contractor shall ensure that all appropriate DA or DD forms (in accordance with references) are utilized for each service provided. The forms will be made available through the GA ARNG DSS office to include those in Appendix B, C, and D.
  • The contractor shall provide all documentation concerning medical treatment to the GAARNG.
  • Train and certify 68W medics.
  • Provide maintenance and calibrate hearing machines as necessary
  • Performs other job related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

This is a part-time (PRN) position that reports to the Lead Audiologist and Site Medical Operations Program Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Licensed and credentialed professional to provide a comprehensive array services related to the prevention of hearing loss and the audiology identification, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of persons with impairment of auditory and vestibular function.
  • Must be accredited by the ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association).
  • High proficiency with learning and using computer programs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Contractor employee should possess the following knowledge/skills:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • The ability to use Power Point, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook
  •  Operate a personal computer to input, store, retrieve and manipulate data for various reports as required by this PRS. Experience with computerized client management systems is required.
  • Use various software programs to maintain database files and prepare reports, including but not limited to the following ARNG web-based electronic data systems via MODS: Medically Non-Deployable (MND)/e-Profile, Medical Data Protection System (MEDPROS), MEDPROS Web Data Entry (MWDE), Soldier Patient Locator (SPL), Warrior Transition Report (WTR), DENCLASS, AVS, HRR, ePHA/MHA, eCase and other modules as applicable or as they become available.
  • Experience with the military, such as prior military service or military family member or military family volunteer, is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrates competency in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care provided including patient/family education.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities including professional verbal and written communication skills, flexibility to prioritize complex situations, and decision-making skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a Part-Time (PRN) position that assists the CNHS/GA ARNG Medical Readiness contract as needed in support of PHA(s), SRP’s, and or personnel needs.  This position works closely with the Lead Audiologist, other PRN Audiologists, Medical Operations Managers, and Program Site Lead to support once a month weekend and quarterly weekday audiology needs of the program.  Contract Reimbursable travel is required at times. The work requirements are shared by the 7-member Audiology team.
