We are seeking a Business Development professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an affinity to prospect, cold call, close business, and successfully sell services based on a clients stated objectives. The selected candidate should be a strategic and a creative thinker with the ability to market services and solutions to the Federal Government.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with management to develop a sales plan, goals, strategies, budget, etc. and projections for daily, weekly and monthly sales contacts.
  • Produce new contract opportunities and corresponding capture plans that ultimately lead to the successful generation of new and profitable business for the sector
  • Use company sales contact system (e.g., Sales Force) and develop processes for system contacts, customer follow-up's, customer screening, etc.
  • Effectively prospect potential clients through various lead sources (including cold calling)
  • Develop, manage, and track Federal Govt. opportunities.
  • Develop creative ideas and solutions based on a client’s objectives.
  • Create and present proposals to clients to secure contracts.
  • Direct accounts from proposal through post-award transition, and re-compete.
  • Lead the development of strong client relationships resulting in competitive intelligence.
  • Follow Cherokee Services Group Portfolio protocol for pricing, finance, and client services.
  • Be a positive team player and active role model for support staff and other business development personnel
  • Some travel is required

 

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree
  • Eight plus (8+) years applicable experience in a federal business development environment
  • Working knowledge of, and experience with, the Federal GSA market and contract vehicles, including Schedule 70 and Stars II.
  • Proven marketing and Business Development to the federal government
  • Ability to confidently understand and present complex materials to high-level marketing executives
  • Superb client management, expectation management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organization, initiative, follow-up, and communication skills
  • Strong writing, grammatical, and proofing skills
  • Strong motivation to exceed goals
  • Enthusiasm for sales and marketing
  • Self-confident, high energy, self-motivated, and a quick thinker
  • Tactful persistence with clients
  • Ability to work independently
  • Works efficiently and prioritizes well
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and federal background check
