The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is a combat support agency supporting the healthcare needs of our warfighters and beneficiaries throughout the Military Health System (MHS). The DHA is embarking on the monumental task of taking over management and oversight of all MHS Direct Care Facilities by October 2018 as mandated in Public Law 114-28, the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act. This transition is to achieve greater standardization of healthcare across the MHS and streamline management of healthcare activities. This new era will require increased knowledge sharing, agility, integration, and continuous improvement to positively influence the success of the current and future health of all stakeholders served.

CNT is seeking a Subject Matter Expert Level Business and Financial Operations Specialists to assist with the DHA Clinical Support Division (CSD), Patient Safety Program (PSP) and The Office of the Deputy of the Assistant Secretary of Defense Health Services Policy and Oversight (HSP&O) Programmatic and Technical support contract. This contract provides programmatic and technical support for the DoD PSP, the DHA CSD (Medical Affairs/J-3), and Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense (OASD) Health Affairs (HA) HSP&O in five major areas: professional consultative services, management studies/MHS/DoD data analysis, preparation of responses, reports, documents, and correspondences, meeting support and policy development/communication/education/drafts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support for HSP&O Mental Health Program Director supporting all facets of mental health efforts both internally and externally, assists in the development of policy and programs, conducts epidemiological assessments and tracks impact of initiatives.
  • Provide oversight of the approximately 50 Health Affairs policies and programs
  • Ensure programs are consistently implemented and conduct assurance activities and investigations
  • Assist to prepare reports and letters to external organizations, including Congress and special interest groups
  • Lead, conduct, advocate, and educate population and community-based psychological health prevention efforts
  • Provide support to assist director in program oversight of clinical informatics in the MHS
  • Support of Health Affairs in collection, summation, analysis and reporting of health policy needs objectives and initiatives, assist working groups to review and assisting in policy implementation, research, drafting and management of Congressional responses, instructions and other directives

Qualifications:

  • A master's degree is required
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience with safety policy and oversight programs is highly desired
  • Experience with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) is preferred
  • Professional registration/certification highly desired.
  • Dynamic leader with strong initiative, facilitation and collaboration skills. Effective change agent.
  • Ability to plan, organize and work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to exercise appropriate judgment to seek guidance from leader, balanced with ability to self-direct and work independently.
  • Demonstrated strong people skills, and oral and written communication skills to effectively facilitate teams, deliver presentations and express ideas. Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the health system.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, think critically and creatively, and provide leadership through a consultative role.
  • Ability to abstract, analyze and interpret data using various databases and statistical tools.
  • Ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines
  • U.S. Citizenship and DoD government security clearance NACI required
  • The ability to pass as drug screen and a federal background check is mandatory
