SUMMARY

Cherokee Nation Technologies (CNT) supports federal agency clients in their leadership role in conducting a wide range of scientific investigations including efforts to provide the scientific understanding and technologies needed to support the sound management and conservation of our Nation’s biological resources.

 

CNT requires administrative support services for governmental functions to ensure continued operation to meet mission requirements. The administrative support will provide personnel, budget, purchasing, and travel arrangement services which support more than 100 scientists and management staff.

None of the required technical services to be performed is inherently governmental in nature and do not involve policy and planning decisions. The work is in an office setting during a traditional work-week and based in Gainesville, FL

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

CNT is searching for a Business Support Specialist (Administrative Support) to join our team and assists in the following:

 

1. Task Objectives and Purpose

  1. Travel functions

    1. Assist with domestic travel authorization / voucher preparation, and forms routing. Including use of applicable Federal Government travel rules, regulations, and software;

 

  1. Office logistics and meetings

    1. Assist Center Administrative staff with office logistics, meetings, and receptionist duties;

  2. Time and Attendance

    1. Assist timekeeper with bi-weekly time and attendance documentation, forms, reports and approval routing and filing;

  3. Special account documentation

    1. Assist Center Administrative staff with special account filing, reporting, all aspects of documentation.

  4. Credit card review and adjustment/bank statements:

    1. Use specific computer software for credit card adjustment, budget management, reconciling credit card statements, maintaining credit card purchasing logs;

    2. Assist with the review of bankcard statements, assure receipts are attached monthly and logs are current. Assist with data entry expenditure adjustments.

    Schedule and Deliverables

    Deliverables shall be provided to the CNT Program Manager, CNT Site Lead and client technical representative and / or Contracting Officer Representative Government sponsor within the applicable timeline and are in form of administrative reports, shared spreadsheets, and may include oral, written, or electronic documentation of work performed

     

    SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

    N/A

    Will report to CNT Program Manager and may coordinate daily work with CNT Site Lead and interact with client representative (Task Order Manager).

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

     

    High school diploma and at least 1 year of previous job experience which include administrative, financial, accounting, or budget analysis focus

    A two-year degree in Business Finance or Accounting is preferred.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  6. Previous job experience must include administrative, financial, accounting, or budget analysis focus

  7. Have good typing skills;

  8. Be familiar with PC computer based systems and electronic mail programs;

  9. Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;

  10. Be able to use Internet Explorer or other similar web browsers;

  11. Be able to work as part of a group with changing priorities and deadlines

  12. Have good communication and inter-personal skills

  13. Applicable training on specific government systems and software will be provided

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typical work conditions will be indoors in an office setting. Some walking, climbing stairs and limited lifting up to 30 lbs may be required.
