The Civil Engineer III will work to investigate/review damaged public facilities, while developing descriptions of the work and costs necessary to repair and/or rebuilding of the site.


Includes the following:

  • Investigate/review damaged public facilities (roads, buildings, bridges).
  • Develop descriptions of the work and costs necessary to repair and/or rebuilding of the site.
  • Work with public stakeholders to assist them with the FEMA Public Assistance process.
  • Performs other job related duties.


  • This position has no supervisory or management authority.


  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and 15+ years of experience Civil Engineering or in a closely related field. 
  • Appropriate technical education and certification.


  • Fluent in Spanish language.
  • Willingness to deploy and mobilize to Joint Field Office (JFO) and on-site location.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and industry partners.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to be politically savvy.
  • Ability to travel frequently and with short notice.
  • Pass a drug screen and federal background check.

  • Ability to travel and deploy to JFO and various onsite locations throughout Puerto Rico.


  • Will be required to work outside and at various sites throughout Puerto Rico
  • Workdays are to be 10hrs/day Monday-Friday


  • Public trust clearance required.
