The Department of State’s (DOS) Information Resource Management (IRM) Messaging Systems Office (MSO) is responsible for developing, implementing, operating, and supporting all Department-wide messaging systems and services.

The Office manages the integration of emerging technologies with existing and planned messaging programs, and ensures messaging services are accessible to all offices of the Department and to other Federal agencies.

Serving in a technology support role, MSO seeks a contractor to provide services and work products including technical systems development, integration, configuration, testing, deployment, and technical project management support for new systems and maintenance of existing ones to ensure MSO can achieve its mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists Solution Architect in the planning, definition, design and integration of cloud services.
  • Support a team of system and software application engineers in migrating application from on premise data centers to Azure Cloud Services. 
  • Assist in establishing the standards and changes to production environments residing in or interacting with the cloud.
  • Deliver solution architectures to execution teams, communicating their value, and ensuring implementation success.
  • Contribute to architecture and configuration management boards to ensure solutions are aligned with architecture and business objectives. 
  • Drive experiments to evaluate new technologies and methodologies to accelerate project delivery. 
  • Develop solutions for AZURE Cloud service standup, configuration and sustainment activities.
  • Consistent with DevOps practices and facilitates the use of continuous integration/continuous development tools in order to speed release delivery and improve solution quality

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess at least two years of experience architecting, developing in, configuring, and implementing Microsoft Azure cloud.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computers Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or very closely related fields.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

“Active Secret SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL required” in order to remain eligible for employment, per contract and government requirements.”
