Construction Safety and Health Program Manager – Warsaw, Poland (ID# 15286)

This position is responsible for the direction of the contract’s Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and policies. This position is also responsible for compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.


  • Lead, develop, and implement a Safety program and environmental compliance program.
  • Lead the HSE function to ensure continuous improvement of the HSE programs.
  • Ensure the HSE programs are consistent with all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Proactively develops and deploys HSE programs to reduce work-related injuries and illness, and prevent harm to the environment.
  • Acts as the champion to insure proper investigation and follow-up is taken on safety concerns, near misses, and incidents.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate hazardous materials issues and problems.
  • Interpret and provide guidance on regulations; preparing environment documentation for hazardous waste activities and implementation of an environmental management system.
  • Keeps executive management informed of project status.
  • Other special duties as required or requested by executive management.
  • Performs other job related duties as required.




5 year experience as a safety manager on similar projects. Must possess a Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) certificate from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or possess the CHST within 6 months from the notice to proceed.


  • Must be fully knowledgeable regarding all sections in the latest edition of the US Army Corps of Engineers Safety & Health Requirements Manual that are relevant to OBO construction site operations.
  • Must be qualified/cognizant to anticipate, identify evaluate, and implement corrective action through activity/worker hazard analysis, worker training, proactive oversight of construction operations to avate or reduce potential safety and health hazards and dangerous environmental exposures.
  • Must coordinate management of safety and health activities and actions for effective protection.
  • Must test any material encountered suspected to contain hazardous substances and bring to the immediate attention of the Project Director/COR.
  • Must prepare written requests and obtain permits to perform the following construction operations:

Hot work, confined space entry, internal combustion engines, explosive actuated tools, and explosives (if applicable.

  • Must provide an orientation for new employees regarding safety, health policies and work rules.


Work will be performed in a combination of office setting and construction site.
