SUMMARY

To support implementation of online policy campaigns to expand and deepen engagement with foreign audiences in our digital networks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consult with Department officials to understand policy and messaging objectives;
  • Work with campaign strategists to determine appropriate digital content;
  • Develop and draft content strategies in support of the campaign plans;
  • Monitor feedback from audiences to identify stories worth highlighting;
  • Identify and cultivate external partners to provide access to third-party content for the campaigns;
  • Recast and edit material from external sources to generate content appropriate for the campaigns;
  • Work with Embassy partners to both identify Network members for campaign features, as well as help them use CRM to connect with Network members.
  • Identify and recruit subject matter experts to participate in blogs, web chats, and online discussions;
  • Generate original digital content for the campaigns, including toolkits, facilitation guides and workbooks;
  • Publish content on WordPress, to include blogs, videos, and other digital materials as needed for Network websites.
  • Propose ideas for innovations in content offerings (potentially including new digital content formats, interactive elements, or other innovative and evolvingcampaign elements and digital tools).

Supervisory/Management Authority:

This position does not have Management authority or Supervisory Capacity.  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Experience managing the implementation of complex projects;

  • Proficiency in the use of word processing software, spreadsheets, databases and project management tools;
  • Proficiency in the use of digital engagement tools (e.g., social media and email) for public engagement purposes;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust security clearance and DOS badge;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate technical material to generalist audiences, both foreign and domestic;
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment on high priority initiatives;
  • Strong ability to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances;
  • Demonstrated interest in continued learning and growth;
  • Strong ability to focus on and understand the needs of clients, as well as build and maintain strong working relationships; and
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required. Degree should reflect training in international relations, literature, business, and/or communications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 Controlled climate office environment.
