The National Park Service (NPS), our client, preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.  The Denver Service Center is led by this NPS mission. As the central planning, design, and construction management office for the National Park Service (NPS), the Denver Service Center (DSC) provides start-to-finish project management and delivery.

Job Description:

The Contract Specialist IV will support the contracting department at NPS DSC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Deliverables):

Includes the following (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Conduct acquisition planning and market research
  • Prepare solicitation, contract, and task order documents for execution by the Contracting Officer.  Complete distribution.
  • Coordinate technical evaluation panels and source selection activities for Best Value selection process. Assist the Contracting Officer as Source Selection Authority.
  • Negotiate sole source requirements.  Obtain and use certified and other than certified cost and pricing data.
  • Determine fair and reasonable pricing.
  • Perform contract administration duties as required to manage contracts professionally.
  • Review payment requests for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Complete contract closeout activities.
  • Performs other job related duties as required.

Supervisory/Management Authority:

This position does not have management authority or supervisory capacity.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 15 plus years of experience in contracting for government agencies required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Interpersonal communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily performed in a controlled office environment.
