SUMMARY

The Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC), headquartered in San Antonio, TX, is responsible for providing responsive, flexible full-spectrum installation engineering services. AFCEC’s missions include facility investment planning, design and construction, operations support, real property management, energy support, environmental compliance and restoration, and audit assertions, acquisition and program management. The unit conducts its operations at more than 75 locations worldwide.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The candidate selected for this position will perform a cost estimate for large scale construction projects such a multi-story facilities, aircraft hangars, dormitories, and airfields.  Cost estimate types include parametric and detailed quantity take-off estimates.
  • Candidate can telework from a location within the continental United States.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or construction related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction industry cost estimating experience
  • 20 years of construction industry cost estimating experience can be substituted for a Bachelors
  • Professional-level cost estimating certification such as those provided by the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering, American Society of Professional Estimators, or International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with industry standard cost estimating tools such as RSMeans
  • Experience with Air Force Civil Engineering MILCON and Facility Sustainment, Repair, Modernization programs
  • Experience managing database systems ensuring data accuracy and reporting
