Fort Irwin National Training Center is a major training area for the United States Military and is a census-designated place located in the Mojave Desert in northern San Bernardino County, California. Fort Irwin is at an average elevation of 2,454 feet. It is located 37 miles northeast of Barstow, in the Calico Mountains.

The Weed Army Community Hospital (WACH) mission is to provide state of the art medical care to ensure patients are cared for medically and cared about personally and to ensure a medically ready force, prepared to accomplish their mission.

We are looking for an experienced CT Technologist to provide services to the Radiology Department at Weed Army Community Hospital at Fort Irwin.


  • Performs MRI/CT imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site Radiologist.
  • Completes and signs Patient Screening form and explains the procedure to the patient.
  •  Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the coach and during the exam.
  • Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs.
  • Under guidance and approval of site Radiologist, administers contrast agents according to site-specific protocols.
  • Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.
  • Provide images to the facility in the desired site format.
  • Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.
  • May assist with the set up and tear down of equipment in accordance with SMS and/or manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the mobile coach/facility.
  • Completes necessary administrative tasks. ie: time reports, billing, QA, etc.
  • Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures.
  • Complies with all safety policies and regulations.
  • Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.
  • Performs additional duties as required.


  • Graduate of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be registry eligible and possess a permit to practice where applicable.
  • Must be able to interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous responsible, professional and ethical manner.
  • Must be able to produce very high quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Must be willing and able to assist the Radiologist in his/her interpretation of exams.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds as well as assist with patient maneuvering.
  • Must be familiar with age specific criteria.
  • Able to demonstrate competency in all applicable areas.
