SUMMARY

Our client, Indian Affairs (IA), established in 1824, is the oldest bureau of the United States Department of the Interior. Bureau of Indian Affairs employees across the country work with tribal governments in the administration of law enforcement and justice; agricultural and economic development; tribal governance; and natural resources management programs to enhance the quality of life in 566 federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native tribal communities.

We are looking for a database administrator to work with the Indian Affairs Information Technology (IAIT) support team headquartered in Albuquerque, NM.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Includes the following:

  • Support numerous administrative and business related applications for lA and Department of the Interior (DOl)
  • Provide applications and database support to include programming, reports, database maintenance, workstation connectivity, user support, end-user training and user account administration
  • Support includes but is not limited to backup and recovery of systems, patching of systems, providing Tier II/III support to lower tiers, performance tuning, hardware upgrades, operational configurations, resource optimization, etc.
  • Design a database to the third norm, write disaster recovery plans, and develop project management documentation
  • Perform installation, configuration, migration, upgrade and administration of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2016 or later, and Oracle 12c.
  • Responsible for standards (STIGs) being applied and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

None

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Associates Degree or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of relational database management experience
  • Customer service requires a minimum of 3 years of related technical experience in supporting various database platforms data center level
  • Able to work with minimal guidance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (4 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree).
  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle middleware products (10g-13c), including:
  • Oracle Forms & Reporting Services
  • Oracle WebLogic
  • Oracle WebCenter Web Content Management
  • Oracle Universal Content Management
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (Cloud Control)
  • MySQL
  • NoSQL

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2016
  • Oracle 12c
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficient
