CNSP is looking for a Desk Officer whom shall be required to serve as a liaison between various DS offices (i.e., regional bureaus, foreign diplomatic missions, Overseas Building Operations (OBO), Information Resource Management (IRM), and Federal agencies (i.e., FBI, US Secret Service).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Desk Officer shall provide coordination, analysis, and resolution of requirements for security technology, equipment and resources.
  • They shall be required to review incoming correspondence from overseas posts and regional Engineering Security Centers (ESC) and Engineering Security Office (ESO) pertaining to technical security matters.
  • The incumbent shall monitor regional ESC/ESO required status reports via Maximo, facilitate the resolution of outstanding compliance issues, and draft correspondence with recommended appropriate actions to take to remedy technical security situations.
  • The Desk Officer will act as a point-of-contact for When Actually Employed (WAE) employees’ travel and assist with WAE travel authorizations and vouchers.
  • Develop memorandums and reports, compile information pertaining to technical security programs for DS, DOS management, and as requested by other Federal agencies. Prepare formal oral and written presentations. Additional responsibilities include composing/send travel locator cables for departing engineering staff.
  • Administer the removal and distribution of materials in containers and safes, archiving historic materials.
  • Monitor, analyze, and provide guidance on general Engineering Security Support activities and programs within assigned region.
  • Develop and deliver briefings to DS senior management and for presentation to US Ambassadors and Office of the Inspector General teams on security technology programs and DOS matters.
  • Respond to taskers, giving reports on overseas posts’ technical security issues for US ambassadorial briefings.
  • Complete daily compilation, formatting and recording in the DS Source and global database of all cable traffic strategic to operations of DS/ST.
  • Respond to overseas posts individual engineering staff member email/phone requests for information and/or mediation.
  • Contact ST’s overseas staff on delinquent or incorrect required reporting.

Supervisory/Management Authority:

  • This position will not have supervisory or management authority

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, with five (5) years’ experience in a business environment.
  • Experience with current Microsoft Suite, Visio, Project and SharePoint, and Adobe Pro

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have a current and active SECRET clearance
  • Must successfully pass a drug test and a federal government background investigation.

Work Environment:

  • This position is primarily performed in a secured federal office setting, in a controlled office environment
