SUMMARY

The Electronic Security System (ESS) Technician will perform engineering, installation and lifecycle support on various physical security devices both domestically (US) and on international projects.  The ESS Technician will lead on-site installation activities and coordinate with the project management office.  The ESS Technician will be responsible for turnkey installation activities including the installation of low voltage, cabling and communication / networking infrastructure.  The primary focus will be security screening equipment (Xrays, etc.), CCTV, Access Control and Intrusion Deteciton.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Performing on site installation of communications and network equipment including fiber, CAT5/6, conduit, cabling and networking gear.
  • Performing on site installation of security equipment including cameras, intrusion detection, access control and ancillary devices.
  • Performing on site installation of security screening equipment including Xrays, Metal Detectors, Explosive Trace Detection and Bottle Liquid Scanners.
  • Performing offloading, rigging and movement of heavy security screening equipment into facilities
  • Performing configuration, testing and verification of systems and devices.
  • Performing warranty support, maintenance and repairs of deployed security devices.
  • Responsible for completing daily reports and safety validation.
  • Responsible for writing and completing on-site closeout, testing and warranty documentation.

 

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

  • Reports directly to the Site Lead and Program Manager

 

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 10 Years of experience with physical security equipment
  • Minimum 5 Years experience in international security installations
  • Minimum 5 Years experience performing system configuration, testing and validation
  • Minimum 5 Years experience performing low voltage installation
  • HS Diploma
  • 2 Years Technical Training

 

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Required

  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Advanced Knowledge of CCTV, Access Control and Intrusion Detection
  • Advanced Knowledge of Low Voltage and Cabling Standards
  • Must hold documented proof of certification from at least (3) OEM(s) mentioned in the preferred section
  • Must hold documented proof of certification, training or technical classwork on fiber and networking
  • Preferred

  • Experience with Screening Equipment (L3, Smiths Detection, CEIA)
  • Experience with Access Control (Lenel, Hirsch/Identiv, Galaxy, RS2)
  • Experience with Intrusion Detection (Bosch, Honeywell)
  • Experience with Video Surveillance (Bosch, Avigilon, Pelco, etc.)
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT
