SUMMARY

The Employee Relations Assistant will provide HR support for the Bureau of Human Resources through the Conduct, Suitability and Discipline Division (CSD). 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare disciplinary case files and appeal case files, both hard copy and electronic, coordinate and respond to vetting requests, and develop routine reports on disciplinary actions
  • Compose routine correspondence in support of the Workplace Violence Incident Assessment Team, Personnel Review Panel and no action cases
  • Resolve minor employee problems pertaining to employee misconduct; e.g., tardiness, absences
  • Conduct interviews to draw out and organize pertinent facts; consider alternate ways of solving the problem(s) or provide management with recommendation for disciplinary action(s)
  • Create, copy, edit, store, retrieve and print a variety of documents; produce correspondence, memoranda, directives, forms reports; create or maintain spreadsheets or databases
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and be responsible for all administrative components of the Personnel Review Panel
  • Respond to vetting requests using the Division’s case management tracking system as basis for response
  • Assist Division Chief, if needed, for briefings, assembling information and preparing PowerPoint, etc.
  • Participating in weekly staff meetings
  • Research articles as directed based on program needs

SUPERVISOR/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory or management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Previous  Human Resources experience
  • Active Top Secret clearance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Good communication skills for data reporting and preparation of correspondence
  • Ability to focus on details and investigate discrepancies in data
  • Ability to create and maintain “record of action” items
  • Ability to reconcile data using human resources, financial, or administrative background and training

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a climate controlled office environment.
