Responsible for using computer-aided design and drafting software to design and develop drawings and plans for NSWC PCD. Responsibilities also include analyzing, scheduling, and tracking Facilities Support work requests.


Includes the following:

  • Using AUTOCAD® software, prepare and modify conceptual drawings of furniture layouts. 
  • Maintain tracking system for the NSWC PCD Master Space Plans.
  • Collect field data, analyze the results, and prepare record drawings.
  • Prepare drawings for site approval requests; work requests to the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Public Works Dept.; engineering sketches; and additional drawings supporting NSWC PCD Facilities.
  • Maintain NSWC PCD inventory tracker of furniture items and components available for re-use.
  • Management and organization of all CAD drawings.
  • Printing of CAD drawings in various formats and packages.


No supervisory or management authority.


Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school; or two years (60 credit hours) coursework from a four-year college or university; or three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least two years’ experience.


  • Experience in performing design development, analysis or review tasks independently.
  • Expert level ability to create and modify drawings, illustrations and diagrams using AutoCAD software
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) into a single drawing.


Work is performed primarily in a climate controlled office environment.
