Job Title: Environmental Engineer II, Travis, CA-ID#15933

 

SUMMARY

The Environmental Engineer II will support the 60th Civil Engineer Squadron at Travis AFB.  Provides specialized engineering technical support and design reviews excluding Title I/II services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Assist DASA (ESOH) Director for Environmental Quality in development of briefing materials related to the Army environmental quality program.
  • Provide support to the DASA (ESOH) Environmental Quality Program including data collection, analyses, briefing preparation, working sessions, meeting attendance and coordination.
  • Provide analysis assistance of environmental and conservations regulatory issues, and legislative affairs which affect the Army ESOH programs.
  • Assist in the preparation of policy and strategic guidance to either the DASA (ESOH) and/or the OASA (IE&E) based upon evaluating and assessing installation, command, and headquarters environmental requirements.
  • Provide management support to either the DASA (ESOH) and/or the OASA (IE&E) including coordination of efforts with other contractors, Army Commands and other Government agencies and international entities.
  • Coordinate studies and actions in support of environmental quality and other solutions for environmental requirements on military bases.
  • Support the DASA (ESOH) Environmental Quality Program including support for compliance and conservation program document development, data review, status reporting, meeting support, briefing preparation, strategic environmental plans review and input, coordination of Environmental Quality Program, and strategic policy and legislative actions.
  • Provide DASA (ESOH) and/or the OASA (IE&E) with assistance on environmental quality strategic communications. This assistance includes but is not limited to assistance in the development of strategic environmental campaign plans and coordination and development of Army strategic policy, and social media.
  • Assist DASA (ESOH) and Legislative Affairs Office on actions including but not limited to review of pending legislation and impacts to the DASA (ESOH) and review of funding appropriated to DASA (ESOH) activities, legislative inquiries/actions effecting DASA (ESOH) and subsequent responses.
  • Help in coordinating Legislative Affairs Office visits, preparation for testimony pertaining to the ESOH program, and assistance in providing appeals/anomalies on Legislative actions in support of all DASA (ESOH) missions.
  • Performs other job related duties as required.

SUPERVISOR/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory/management authority.

EDUCATON AND EXPERIENCE

BS or BA in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a closely related field is mandatory. Six (6) to ten (10) years’ experience in environmental analysis required.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and other database management experience.
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills both oral and written.
  • The ability to pass a drug screen and federal background check (NACI) is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be performed primarily in a climate controlled office environment.
