Environmental Specialist

NASA Ames Research Center, one of ten NASA field centers, is located in the heart of California's Silicon Valley. For more than 76 years, Ames has led NASA in conducting world-class research and development in aeronautics, exploration technology and science aligned with the center's core capabilities.

They are in need of Environmental Support Services on Moffett Field in California. The successful candidate will be an Environmental Lead with hands on environmental management experience.


  • Provide services in the following areas:
  • Air Quality
  • Cultural Resources (National Historic Preservation Act, Archeological Resources Protection Act, etc.)
  • Environmental Management System
  • Hazardous Materials Management:
  • Hazardous waste management/processing
  • National Environment Policy Act / Environmental Justice
  • Natural Resources (wildlife, plants, ecosystems)
  • Spill Control: (petroleum, oils and lubricants)
  • Above Ground Storage Tanks
  • Restoration and Remediation
  • Sustainability practices and pollution prevention (water conservation, energy conservation, waste reduction/recycling, sustainable acquisition)
  • Water Quality (drinking water, waste water, storm water)


  • A minimum of a Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a related field of study
  • A minimum of 5 years of Environmental Program Management experience within the federal government
  • Have a proven track record in program management and competency as well as experience with a full range of environmental services on a federal level.
  • Experience in the above areas of responsibilities
