SUMMARY

The facility manager coordinates all building maintenance repairs with GSA building representatives, DOS facility management personnel, and outside vendors. The facility manager is responsible for monitoring any building modification projects to include work spaces, community spaces such as conference and break rooms, electrical, and HVAC.  The facility manager resolves issues with telecommunication systems in the building (telephone, cable, video teleconferencing). Because this facility has a designated Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) room located within it, the facility manager is required to hold a Top-Secret clearance with SCI access authorization to perform some of the duties

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

· Serve as the primary local POC for the SA24 Renovation Project.

o Coordinates work schedules and resolves any access control issues for the contractors performing construction within the building.

o Maintains personal rosters as staff gets rotated into temporary work spaces.

o Coordinates with government managers for excessing government property.

o Executes any new security policies as defined by Division Management.

o Schedules all maintenance repairs for existing space.

o Assists with all planning and design phases, estimating current and future space requirement, managing office and furniture allocations, implementing new security policies, and maintaining personnel rosters.

o Assist with new SCIF installation.

o Attends all scheduled renovation project meetings.

· Serves as the Alternate Unit Security Officer.

o Assists government management with maintain their emergency action plan.

o Coordinates various security drills.

· Serves as the primary contact for building alarm system, access control requests and access to secure rooms and labs.

o Responsible for reporting any access control violations, security incidents.

o Schedules electrical installations and meter reading by Dominion Power.

o Schedule installation of any new communication circuits with DOS commercial communication companies and submits all requests for any new phone/data set installations.

o Schedules servicing/installation of vending machines.

o Resolves any parking issues.

o Submits repair and/or new request for all copier machines and shredders.

o Assist with maintaining the receptionist area and ensuring all visitors follow DOS security procedures.

o Supervise outsourced janitorial services.

· Requests for new phone/data set installations.

· Electrical installations and reading of meters by Dominion Power.

· Installation of new communication circuits with DOS commercial communication companies.

· Servicing/installing vending machines.

· Parking Issues.

· Repair or maintenance requirements for copier machines.

· Repair or maintenance requirements for shredding machines.

· Fill-in as Receptionist and courier on an as-needed basis.

· Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in project management.
  • Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance, and SCI if needed for the position.
  • Must be a US citizen.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be performed in a climate controlled office environment.
