Cherokee Nation Businesses is looking for a Finance Manager II or III. This exciting opportunity will leverage the candidate’s leadership ability and experience in finance. With a $120 million in annual revenue, 20% growth per year, approximately 200 contracts and 750+ employees, Cherokee Nation Businesses’ (CNB) group of Federal Contracting Section 8(a) companies is well positioned to deliver expertise needed to solve complex technical issues. Federal Solutions provides an array of services for 12 of the 15 cabinet-level departments and agencies – from applications and data services to cybersecurity and national defense.


Responsible for development of profit/loss statement through oversight of financial contract matters including analysis and risk identification.  Critical team member of Program Management, Contracts/Legal and Customer for ongoing and new business initiatives.  Proactive in development of policies, procedures and processes as they relate to company financial compliance.


Includes the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Analyzes profit and loss statement including general ledger accounts as necessary
  • Supports month end close responsibilities and  financial reviews in a timely manner
  • Analyzes and interprets financial data which includes revenue, cost, profit, and variance analysis.
  • Identifies and implements corrective action of non-compliance of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in accordance with FAR/GAAP and company practices including allowable and unallowable costs
  • Manages development of detail budgets and monitors actuals incurred
  • Analyses overhead and G&A rates for impact to operating income
  • Manage proposal pricing requirements
  • Implementation of  DCAA/DCMA compliant proposal pricing system
  • Develops, streamlines, implements and monitors processes and internal controls
  • Supports internal and external audit requests for designated areas including DCAA and DCMA
  • Prepares analysis for management discussion


May manage or direct more than one department through subordinate supervisors/managers. Manage multiple projects without having direct supervisory responsibilities


Requires 2 year’s direct experience in DOD government contracting environment with an additional 5 years of financial analysis experience (Total of 7 years experience required).  Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field.  At least 3 years of direct management experience.


Requires 3 year’s direct experience in DOD government contracting environment to include CPFF contracts with an additional 6 years of financial analysis experience (Total of 9 years experience required).  Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field.  At least 3 years of direct management experience.


  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR) preferred
  • Experience working with Accounting Software applications, including Deltek T&E and Costpoint a plus
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (with strong Excel skills), as well in a network environment
  • Ability to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision, proactively adjudge and react to potential problems, and effectively communicate at all levels of supervision and executive management.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills,


This position is primarily performed in a climate controlled office setting. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
