The Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC), headquartered in San Antonio, TX, is responsible for providing responsive, flexible full-spectrum installation engineering services. AFCEC’s missions include facility investment planning, design and construction, operations support, real property management, energy support, environmental compliance and restoration, and audit assertions, acquisition and program management.

Nation Technologies is seeking a General Engineer with a concentration with general structures and diversity within the civil, mechanical and electrical trades to assist AFCEC in their mission. This candidate can work from Panama City, FL.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the client in making investment decisions related to the repair, long-term sustainment and routine maintenance of fixed facilities.
  • Perform other job related duties as required.

Supervisory/Management Authority:

  • This position does not have management authority

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA/BS degree from an accredit university in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Math or Math heavy sciences, or related fields is required
  • A MA/MS degree from an accredit university in related fields is strongly desired
  • Extensive experience (15 years +) within the DoD or Military can be substituted
  • Three (3) to ten (10) years of engineering experience in requirements identification, planning, design, construction and/or facility maintenance is required
  • Experience in CADD applications relating to fixed facilities
  • Experience in leading others to achieve established goals and timelines
  • Ability to work independently to achieve both broadly described and narrowly proscribed work outcomes
  • Experience in organizing and gathering project data, conducting analysis, preparing reports, and providing recommendations to clients
  • Experience within Department of Defense Agencies or the uniformed services
  • Air Force experience a plus but not required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Experience in structural design for vertical facilities, including buildings and support structures
  • Knowledge of and experience in pavement design and construction standards
  • Knowledge of cost estimation techniques and software related to vertical facilities (knowledge of BUILDER a plus)
  • Knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing methods to evaluate facility condition
  • Ability to lead small teams of personnel a plus but not required
  • Professional registration is a plus, but not required
  • US citizenship required
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and drug screen is mandatory

This position is performed secured military office setting in a controlled office environment
