The purpose of the Support Services Assistant is to provide administrative support services to the domestic Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs (EAP) i.e. EX – FO – K – ANP – CM – EP – MLS – PD – RSP & TC. The primary objective is to provide contractor administrative services and deliverables to meet the Bureau’s mission.


Job Description:

Serving as the Support Services Assistant in the East Asian and Pacific Affairs (EAP) bureau, this is a high-performing general service professional with a high degree of organization, resourcefulness, tact, and customer service/interpersonal skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Deliverables):

Includes the following (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Provide general GSO and administrative support; supporting EAP’s 230 domestic users.
  • Assist with events organization and supplies
  • Assists with special events
  • Run the Parking Pass Program
  • Run the Art Bank Program
  • Responsible for the bureau’s passport/visa courier service program
  • E2- Travel voucher and travel authorization approver
  • Support office furniture moves to include ordering of new furniture
  • Support Ergonomic requests
  • Escort to contractors within EX Suite
  • Escort for special events as needed
  • Liaison with loading dock
  • Responsible for ordering of expendable supplies from mandatory sources
  • Run the Duty Officer Program
  • Supports other duties as assigned by Lead Support Services Specialist

Supervisory/Management Authority:

This position does not have management or supervisory capacity.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 8 to 10 years of administrative/receptionist experience required.
  • Excellent customer service and multi-tasking skills.
  • Top secret clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  (example: specific software, soft skills, etc. – This gets deleted)

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Must be able to organize routine data and maintain established procedures.
  • Must be able to work with all levels of personnel and inter-departmently and operate courteously and tactfully.


This position is performed primarily in a secured federal office setting.
