CNSP looking for a GIS Specialist-Journeyman to support the Program Management Office (PMO) at Tyndall AFB in rebuilding the base after Hurricane Michael by turning the new $3B master plan into a portfolio of ready-to-award-construction project packages.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • We are looking for a professional with GIS experience to coordinate activities with other organizational elements, educate and train others regarding the use and potential use of GIS tools for mission accomplishment.
  • This role will support the Air Forces’ MILCON and Facility Sustainment Restoration and Modernization (FSRM) programs in support of the Tyndall AFB rebuild effort.  The candidate selected for this position will perform a broad range of GIS functions for a variety of design and construction projects as part of the rebuild effort.
  • Use GIS skill sets as appropriate to further the mission of the Tyndall PMO.
  • Participate in the creation, maintenance, and gathering of GIS datasets related to natural resource and built infrastructure.
  • Utilize various GIS techniques, image processing, and graphics software systems to produce completed map products and figures.
  • Creating or reformatting data into standard geospatial formats using geoprocessing tools.
  • Prepare Metadata, Data archives, Data Series Reports, and Data Releases.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory/Management Authority:

  • This position will not have any supervisory or management authority.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and have an active and current DOD security clearance (NACI).
  • All selected applicants will be subject to a U.S. Federal Government security background investigation to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and favorably pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • As a minimum a Bachelors’ degree or Masters’ degree (preferred) from an accredited discipline university in Physical or Life Sciences, or other related field is required.
  • Three (3) to ten (10) years of GIS experience.
  • Experience with the US Air Force facilities and construction programs is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with using the US Air Force GeoBase system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Utilizing and applying computer software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working with the ArcGIS software suite is required.
  • Performing QA/QC on data sets.
  • Familiarity with SDSFIE and AFI 32-10112.

 

Work Environment:

  • This position is primarily performed in a secured federal and/or military installation office setting, a controlled office environment as well as working outside in a construction site field environment.
