SUMMARY

We are seeking a Graphic Designer to support the U.S. Coast Guard’s Surface Forces Logistics Center’s Technical Information Management Branch with creation, conversion, and revision of graphics, photographs, and illustrations used within technical data products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  1. Create, convert, and revise graphics, photographs, and illustrations used within technical data products including MPC’s, TCTO’s, Technical Publications, and Illustrated Parts Breakdowns.
  2. Creation or distillation of 3D drawings or models for publications and presentations.
  3. Attend Meetings and Conferences as directed by the Contracting Officer’s Rep. (COR).
  4. Complete other ad-hoc requests for technical data as required.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

None.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must be able to learn basic drawings requirements defined in COMDTINST M9085.1, Naval Engineering Computer Aided Design Standards.

Must have experience creating and modifying graphics and photos using software tools such as: AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, SnagIT, Navisworks and other specialized graphic design software

Minimum education requirement of: a Bachelor’s degree; at least five (5) years of technical job-related experience; or a combination of education and experience.

Have the ability to pass a NACI background investigation and obtain a government issued Common Access Card (CAC) to access USCG IT systems and facilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work independently with little oversight by the government under direction of a technical lead in the Technical Information management Branch (TIMB) Visual Information Team.

Demonstrate good oral/ written communication skills and organizational abilities.

Pass a drug screen and federal background check is mandatory

Excellent analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs are required.

Strong attention to detail verifying accuracy and completeness of graphics.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Climate controlled office work environment.
