SUMMARY

Carries out instructions primarily oriented toward insuring that emergencies and security violations are readily discovered and reported to the appropriate authorities. Intervenes directly only in situations which require minimal action to safeguard property or persons. Duties require minimal training.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Providing clear direction, information and assistance to client visitors, guests, vendors and employees in a professional, pleasant and courteous fashion
  • Access control and monitoring of construction sites. Reporting issues to management.
  • Visually inspecting all visitor, vendor and employee access badges to verify that the authorized holder is the individual presenting the badge to prevent unauthorized access to the property
  • Maintaining surveillance and reporting of any suspicious persons, vehicles and/or packages
  • Assist site personnel in providing proper instructions and directions during emergencies.
  • Patrolling the construction site on a regular basis.
  • Maintaining an active presence at the access gates to transport non-cleared personnel.
  • Performs other job related duties as required.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.    

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and be able to communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Moderate to Loud sound (e.g., construction sites, warehouses, people traffic), extensive outdoor weather conditions and all routine job tasks inherent in position; the ability to stand and walk one-third to two-third of the time; the ability to talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; close vision; color vision; depth perception and ability to correct and adjust focus.
