We are seeking an Intermediate Network Engineer that will design and plan the implementation, optimization, and operation of LAN, Wireless LAN, and WAN systems at remote and core locations. Partner with client and management to determine LAN, Wireless LAN, WAN, and Telecom business needs and provides technical expertise for the successful design and implementation of effective enterprise-wide network strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs complex network configurations to maximize the sharing of applications, information and resources across the company.
  • Coordinates with vendors/departments to procure hardware, software and services and obtain their assistance to achieve timely completion of projects.
  • Manages the LAN, Wireless LAN and WAN Telecommunications network to ensure effective use of the installed technology.
  • Investigates and resolves problems, inefficiencies and enhances network performance.
  • Provides strategic planning and technical support to determine LAN, Wireless LAN, WAN and Telecom business needs throughout the company.
  • Evaluates, tests, recommends, and implements specific network solutions.
  • Creates and maintains network documentation and performance growth and planning needs.
  • Plans, manages and provides leadership on project teams, including the identification of the project scope and objectives and managing the process for timely project completion.
  • Researches new technologies to improve efficiencies with technology, conducting business case studies to justify the need for technology while providing ongoing information to management, peers and customers regarding enhancements and innovations.
  • Designs, engineers, and manages complex system related communication and routing protocols.

Supervisory/Management Authority

  • May direct the activities of other technical staff, proving training as needed.                                         

Education and/or Experience

  • BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent. Certifications in multiple technology areas are a significant plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess excellent knowledge of basic system protocols and methodologies.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, and people skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
  • Must work well under pressure and handle multiple projects at once.
  • Organizational skills are required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC).
  • Must be a US citizen.

  • This position is primarily performed in a climate controlled office setting.
