Summary:

 

Cherokee Nation Management and Consulting is seeking a part-time Junior Public Affairs Specialist to create products and support other communication initiatives for CNMC clients.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following:

  • Produce visual mission products (e.g. presentations, print collaterals, templates, posters, flyers)

  • Research and gather information for journalism products, technical documents and meeting support

  • Communicate in person, on the phone and email with clients, environmental subject matter experts and stakeholders

  • Assist with research, reporting and tracking information for content creation

  • Fact check and perform quality assurance/quality control on completed product.

 

Supervisory/Management Authority:

This position does not have management authority or supervisory capacity.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Undergraduate in Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design or related field; or degree seeking with a minimum of two years’ experience in the field

  • The ability to work independently and in a team setting

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite

  • InDesign and Adobe design software experience preferred

  • Good problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Experience with writing/editing i.e. journalism & technical writing

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • The ability to pass a drug screen and background check is required

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work will be onsite with clients at AFIMSC headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, in an office environment.
