SUMMARY

Support USAMRIID with telemetry computer software used for data analysis and presentation within BSL-2, 3, 4 biocontainment environments

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently assemble, calibrate, and test telemetry systems; troubleshoot electronic and software communication issues, and independently perform telemetry support for animal studies in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 biocontainment laboratory environments
  • Operate and maintain the telemetry systems in a validated state for use in GLP animal studies
  • Maintain a safe and secure storage and backup of all original data files;
  • Tabulate and analyze telemetry data and provide results to Telemetry Support SME for review
  • Maintain inventory of all telemetry system components to include hardware and software
  • Operate and maintain telemetry systems (e.g., DSI, Stellar and NOTOCORD) in a validated state as required for use in GLP animal studies; and assist in the maintenance and validation of telemetry equipment as needed
  • Trained in GLP and maintain records at that standard IAW all applicable regulations and USAMRIID SOPs
  • Author, revise and review SOPs as needed.
  • Respond to regulatory audits and CAPAs within the required timelines
  • Assist in the coordination and collaboration with scientists and technical staff within the Institute to provide telemetry services to include assisting in the training of study personnel on basic telemetry functions and data review
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly Telemetry Technical
  • Knowledge of chronically implanted biomedical instrumentation, electromagnetic signal transmission, signal filtering and processing, A/D conversion, and signal analysis
  • Hold and maintain BPRP status

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory/management authority or describe supervision

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with implanted telemetry instrumentation

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Favorable adjudication of Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed
  • FBI Security Risk Assessment (SRA) completed and approved
  • Enrollment in the Biological Personnel Reliability Program (BPRP) for handling select agents is required and must be maintained
  • Highly organized self-starter with excellent customer service skills
  • Articulate and confident
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills, to include time management
  • Provide oversight in a matrix team environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to gather project requirements and expectations for all levels of management to include in the project plan

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily performed in laboratory space
