Laboratory Technician- Richmond, CA (ID #14633)

Seeking Environmental Laboratory Technician(s) to work with a team of 25 environmental professionals in Richmond, CA. The position is full-time (32-40 hours per week). The successful candidate will possess sufficient skills and abilities to conduct laboratory support activities such as glassware cleaning, inventory maintenance, and data entry.
 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • General laboratory support (e.g., glassware preparation) following detailed instructions.
  • Assist with sample preparation and analysis as time allows.
  • Typical assignments require working on your feet while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE, generally a lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves) for most of the day.
  • Filing, data entry, word processing or similar clerical tasks may be assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
  • Attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Administrative support skills including word processing and editing, spreadsheet and database maintenance, scheduling and calendar management (preferably with web-based tools) are preferred.
  • Experience working in MS Office applications is preferred;
  • Experience working within a team environment is preferred;
  • “Hands-on” experience in a laboratory setting is preferred;
  • Possession of OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER is desirable.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required.
