The U.S. Coast Guard’s Technical Information Management Branch is a part of the Surface Forces Logistics Center’s located in Baltimore, Maryland.

We are seeking a Library Technician to the U.S. Coast Guard’s Surface Forces Logistics Center’s Technical Information Management Branch with maintenance, tracking, and management of technical documentation within multiple databases and applications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work independently with little oversight by the government under direction of a technical lead in the Technical Information management Branch (TIMB).
  • Collect, organize, review, and scan hardcopy aperture cards, electronic files, as well as engineering drawings into .PDF format for publication into CG-LIMS-STIP.
  • Review, index, and prepare engineering drawings for archiving and submission to NARA
  • Attend Meetings and Conferences as directed by the COR
  • Complete other ad-hoc requests for technical data as required.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree or at least two (2) years of task related experience is required
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience providing data entry and data management support
  • Must be able to learn basic drawings requirements defined in COMDTINST M9085.1, Naval Engineering Computer Aided Design Standards
  • Must be able to gain a working level understanding of the Coast Guard Logistics Information Management System – Surface Technical Information Portal (CG-LIMS-STIP).
  • Ability to develop written documents, track requirements, and other project specific tasks as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to meticulously perform Quality Assurance (QA) reviews of data verifying accuracy and completeness
  • Good organizational skills and excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines
  • U.S. Citizenship and DoD government security clearance NACI required
  • Successfully pass a drug screen and federal background check is mandatory
