The USAISR mission is to be the nation’s premier joint research organization planning and executing registry-based and translational research providing innovative solutions for burn, trauma, and combat casualty care from the point of injury through rehabilitation.  This non-personal based service contract will provide the USAISR with the required resources to staff and maintain mission critical operations.  Failure to provide the support services needed to carry out and complete routine requirements would be extremely detrimental to the mission. 

Job Description:

The Logistics Manager will successfully manage the timelines, completeness, and quality of problem identification.  The effective manager will ensure customer satisfaction and professional and ethical behavior. The Logistics management support includes administrative support and tier computer support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Deliverables):

Includes the following (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Will be support a full range of logistical support include assisting in ordering equipment, supplies, being accountable for equipment and hand receipts and supplies, equipment accountability with assigned Hand Receipts of the JTS. 
  • Maintains spreadsheet for the tracking all joint trauma systems area equipment, expenditures and other information. 
  • Will support with departmental communications, travel support, printing, library or publication services, mail, facilities and equipment, transportation, records, forms and reports
  • Responsible for coordinating assigned tasks to ensure smooth operation, proper delivery of services, and effective customer support.
  • General logistic management operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support a Joint traumas system mission.
  • The work requires administrative concepts and practices in order to foresee administrative problems and requirements sufficient to enable the incumbent to recommend changes in overall organization administrative or program policies, devise, and install the procedures and practices necessary for accomplishment of the Joint Trauma System mission.
  • Maintains calendar of key events and activities related to the activities, Plans, organizes, and executes travel and files vouchers for team members.
  • Responsible for all tier 1 Computer Support Services to include initial troubleshooting for the Joint Trauma System

Supervisory/Management Authority:

This position does not have management authority or supervisory capacity.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is desirable
  • 2-3 years working in logistic and administrative experience.
  • Must have experience in the Defense Travel System (DTS).
  •  (x) experience is strongly desired/a plus etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  (example: specific software, soft skills, etc. – This gets deleted)

  • Skill and knowledge of life cycle logistics support for assigned systems or supply, maintenance, and procurement into logistics activities
  • Skill in aanalyze supply transactions or provide customer service for urgent critical shortage items
  • Skills Microsoft® Office suite (Word®, Outlook®, Excel®,   PowerPoint®);

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The duties of this position are primarily performed in a climate controlled 100% secured office environment. It site right next to large military hospital. Within this building we do conduct animal reach. All successful candidate will have to meet the USAISR Health requirements. New hire will comply with safety procedures and infection control/occupational health procedures pertaining to the entire ISR facility, but in particular to the laboratory, vivarium and animal surgery area. This may include documentation of the following: TB Test; Hepatitis B vaccine, titer, or wavier, Toxoplasmosis titer (females); Rabies (pre-bite) vaccine, titer, or wavier, Brucellosis titer; Q-Fever titer, Tetanus booster within the last 5; HIV titer, as required. Other special exam such as pulmonary function, respirator fit, audiogram and/or laser vision testing may also be required.
