The Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) is the single logistics center for the Coast Guard (CG) surface fleet, providing engineering, maintenance, supply, and technical information services to 242 cutters and over 1,800 boats stationed throughout the United States. The SFLC core workforce is comprised of approximately 1,800 employees geographically distributed across the U.S. It’s mission is to provide the surface fleet and other assigned assets with depot level maintenance, engineering, supply, logistics and information services to support Coast Guard missions.

 

We are looking for a Maintenance Developer to provide support for the Coast Guard SFLC’s Integrated Logistics and Maintenance Management services.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and develop maintenance procedures using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodology for Coast Guard electronic systems and equipment
  • Collection, processing and maintenance of data for analysis
  • Deliver high quality products in support of the Coast Guard’s modernization initiatives focusing on Reliability-Centered Maintenance Analyses (RCM), Master Requirements Lists (MRL), and Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPC)
  • Responsible for the development of critical maintenance and safety plans for Coast Guard electronic systems
  • Develop all aspects of Coast Guard Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPCs) including developing, correcting, updating, quality assurance, validation and administration
  • Inspect US Navy electronics systems for mission capability and material readiness during Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV)
  • Verify US Navy technicians are capable of safely and properly operating electronics systems assigned and recommend further training as required
  • Interact with clients regarding maintenance philosophy and infrastructure
  • Review engineering designs, equipment characteristics, and failure data to develop or review existing maintenance

 

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is desired; a High School diploma or equivalent is required
  •  Must have the ability to obtain RCM Level-II Maintenance Analysts Certification by the Coast Guard
  • Must have at least 6 years of CG Electronics or DoD Electronics Maintenance development experience
  • Working knowledge of information systems to include CGLIMS Surface Technical Information Portal (STIP), NE-TIMS, WebFlis, Haystack Gold, Nomenclature Database, ACMS, and SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of electronic shipboard systems and maintenance logistics
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
  • An active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one is a must
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and federal background check is required
