The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is a Combat Support Agency responsible for supporting joint operating forces across the range of military operations and in support of combatant commanders executing military operations. The DHA supports the delivery of integrated, affordable, and high quality health services throughout the Military Health System. It executes the Department’s medical mission, manages the execution of policy and serves as the program manager for TRICARE health and medical resources.

CNSD is seeking an experienced security and risk-based individual that will be a critical team contributor for development, management and growth of DHA’s Information Security policy and procedures. Candidate must possess a comprehensive Information Security program knowledge based upon DoD policy and guidance as well as industry best practices. 


Includes the following (and other duties may be assigned):

  • Support day-to-day operations in an Open Storage Secret (OSS) facility, to include, but not limited to visitor management, issuing courier cards, vetting personnel via Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), and creating and maintaining security files on Civilian, Military and Contractor personnel
  • Assist in processing Visit Authorization Requests (VAR) for DHA personnel
  • Assist in preparing documentation for processing DD Forms 254 for contracting companies working in classified DHA spaces
  • Maintain an updated listing of personnel whom have access to DHA Collateral Secured facilities
  • Conduct security assessments and inspections as requested
  • Conduct periodic physical inspections of Collateral Secured facilities
  • Ensure all local policies and regulations for operation of Collateral Secured facilities are compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure Collateral Secured facilities pass annual re-certification
  • Ensure personnel requesting access to Collateral Secured facilities space have the proper clearance and need to know for Collateral Secured facilities access and retain listing of such personnel
  • Conduct briefings/training on Collateral Secured facilities policy and procedures for personnel prior to being granted Collateral Secured facilities access
  • Coordinate with PFPA for granting and revoking access to Collateral Secured facilities. and collateral spaces
  • Provide daily management of group mailboxes and help lines
  • Provide information security/ counter-intelligence support as needed for assigned facilities
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Proficient knowledge of DoD Security protocols to include knowledge in information security and communications security
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required (minimum)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • MS Office Tools required (Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of management principles, organizational theory, and techniques of analysis and evaluation
  • Knowledge of policy writing, administrative regulations and operating procedures
  • Knowledge of the mission, functions, and structure of the organization, and able obtain data and information regarding work operations and to prepare a report of findings
  • A working knowledge of the United States Military and the Department of Defense to include but not limited to ranks and titles of uniformed service members


  • Reports to Mission Assurance Program Manager and engage with government personnel on a regular basis along with periodic communication with high ranking military authorities in all branches and PFPA (Pentagon Force Protection Agency).


  • Bachelors degree or related field experience five (5) years of related experience and/or a combination of education and experience in the following: (1) acting as the primary interface with government program authorities and representatives on technical and project issues, (2) supervising project operations by developing procedures, (3) planning and directing execution of the technical support effort, and (4) monitoring and reporting progress.
  • Experience with project management, creating and implementing project schedules, managing project teams and budgets, as well as a strong technical background preferable.

  • This position is performed in a climate controlled office setting.
  • Some travel may be required.
