The Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) is responsible for providing responsive, flexible full-spectrum installation engineering services. AFCEC’s missions include facility investment planning, design and construction, operations support, real property management, energy support, environmental compliance and restoration, and audit assertions, acquisition and program management. The unit conducts its operations at more than 75 locations worldwide.

 

CNTS is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to assist AFCEC with their mission.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a broad range of mechanical engineering design and construction administration support for the Air Force
  • Review and advisory/assistance for a broad range of AFCEC design and construction projects
  • Review of facility design to meet Federal sustainability requirements, including validation of mechanical and plumbing equipment design selections based on life cycle cost and facility energy modeling. 
  • Assist and contribute to facility designs meeting sustainability goals

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering license in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of construction industry experience
  • Preferred  five (5) years of experience contributing to facility designs meeting sustainability goals, including but not limited to USGBC or Green Globes certification
  • Experience in design to meet sustainability goals, performing facility energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis based selection of facility systems
  • LEED Accredited Professional preferred
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) sustainability policies and standards is preferred
  • Experience with Air Force Civil Engineering MILCON and/or Facility Sustainment, Repair, Modernization programs is strongly desired
  • Have or have the ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Successfully pass a federal background check and drug screen
