The Defense Health Agency (DHA) Office of the Inspector General (OIG), our client, provides fair and impartial IG services to all DHA personnel. The DHA OIG meets compliance requirements set forth by the Department of Defense (DoD), which established IG services to drive the prevention and detection of fraud, waste, and abuse. The DHA OIG provides a confidential and unbiased resource for the DHA community. In addition, the DHA OIG inquiries into and reports on the discipline, efficiency, economy, morale, training, and readiness of the organization.

Management Analyst (Mid)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual who excels at communication, both verbal and written, and is open to acquiring new skills. The ideal candidate should be a team player that possesses an understanding of DoD IG Inspection processes/ requirements and have a legal background.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide coordination on such matters as Freedom of Information/Privacy Act requests, and referrals for administrative actions
  • Assists with conducting fundamental quality reviews of investigative products to ensure completeness and adherence to basic policies and procedures.
  • Prepare correspondence pertaining to Inspector General Inspections, Investigations, and other correspondence as directed.
  • Receive complaints and request for assistance and provide reports and documentation to the Senior Investigators and Hotline Coordinator.
  • Assist in the development of policy letters which may require researching applicable directives from higher authority, to ensure conflict will not result from issuance of new policy.
  • Coordinate draft policy with other agency directorates prior to submission for final review and approval.
  • Prepare portions of formal written reports including factual data, observations, and recommends improved and/or management practices and procedures.
  • Monitor e-mail, telephone, and facsimile for DHA Hotline Program complaints and communications.
  • Process and address incoming DHA Hotline cases, develop DHA Hotline responses, and coordinate all cases with DHA Hotline Coordinator.
  • Maintain the DHA Hotline Case spreadsheet for accuracy and full accountability of all Hotline cases.
  • Assists with supporting/coordinating OIG activities, events, and functions, such as in-service training and hotline operations.
  • Provide data analysis and develop comprehensive reports and info graphs of information and measures of effectiveness for senior DHA leadership.
  • Assists with analyzing and responding to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
  • Assist in identifying which facts are applicable and present them in a coherent and logical manner
  • Assist with transcriptions of interviews from all DHA OIG investigations and inquiries.
  • Lead or support special projects covering a broad range of mission activities, as assigned. These projects typically address high-priority issues that are sensitive in nature and have short deadlines.
  • Prepare briefings, presentation materials, and speeches for the DHA OIG staff.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and administrative instructions.
  • Prepare and edit documents, correspondence, and/or presentation materials for personnel.
  • Oversee, track, and assist in guiding the progress of multiple special projects and activities with varying timelines and due dates.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Active Common Access Card (CAC), Position of Trust clearance, or Secret clearance required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, customer service, and maintaining a positive work environment while maintaining flexibility
  • Experience in the use of Access Database, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive information, and the high level of integrity implicit in the performance of duties and responsibilities in the OIG

  • Proactive in identifying problems and developing solutions
