Cherokee Nation Management and Consulting has an immediate need for a Mission Support Specialist/Project Coordinator. We are seeking a qualified candidate to assist facility managers within the Facilities Project Management Office (PMO) at a government client site. The Mission Support Specialist/Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting with all stages of facility related projects in order to provide and sustain safe, secure, and functional facilities for CBP.  This support includes assistance with planning, initiating, monitoring, data collection and closeout of various types tasks associated with facilities and infrastructure maintenance, repair, and construction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the review and oversight of facilities projects designed to maintain, modernize and/or renovate existing facilities as well as construction of new facilities. 
  • Coordinate project schedules, resources, equipment and information.
  • Maintain project costs, tasks, milestones, and deadlines. 
  • Complete weekly and monthly internal and external reporting. 
  • Develop project briefings and presentations.
  • Maintain and organize project files, invoices, estimates, and vendor information.
  • Investigate and resolve facility maintenance, repair, and renovation issues and escalate to management when necessary.
  • Serve as a representative receiving visitors and planning project team events.
  • Provide technical and editorial review on Agency communication documents.   
  • Capture action items for project management teams, meeting minutes and disseminate to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings with agendas, office logistics, tracking action items, distributing meeting minutes.
  • Tracking and reporting of data in multiple government real property systems.
  • Assist the facility directorate in managing and maintaining all work planning, cost and performance information.
  • Maintain purchase logs for government credit cards, assist with research on equipment and vendors, track available funding, and complete an inventory of received items for the facilities group.
  • Support the administrative requirements required to meet the day-to-day mission directly supporting the PMO management
  • Support facility and infrastructure requests, communications, tasks, travel, meetings and other activities.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

This position has no supervisory or management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) or more years of related work experience is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all team members.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and SharePoint.
  • Must have or be able to obtain DHS/CBP) Public Trust clearance prior to start
  • Facilities construction and maintenance experience a plus.
  • A strong customer service background is desired.

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or related technical certifications relative to the position. 
  • Previous experience supporting a Federal Government Agency.
  • Candidates with current Homeland Security Suitability or DoD or other agency Top Secret highly preferred.
  • Experience in utilizing government accounting and real property systems, such as SAP or TRIRIGA.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The majority of the work is to be performed Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day/40 hours per week at the government client site; however a flex schedule may be necessary to accommodate facility projects.
