We are seeking a Network Administration Manager to assist with the delivery of solutions for turnkey communications systems. This may include, but not limited to program and technical assistance planning networks, designing infrastructure, and supporting these network infrastructures. This includes all types of voice, data, and video networks, including converged networks of all multiple information domains.  Responsible for monitoring bandwidth utilization, network design and planning. Will provide services related to designing, delivering and maintaining solutions for both secure and non-secure data communications systems, which may include network management equipment, Internet Protocol (IP) equipment, channel banks, switching systems, wireless access points, encryption tools and interfaces, signal conversion and interface equipment. Will provide infrastructure management and monitoring capabilities to include the server, network (wired and wireless), and virtualization environments. Support shall include the use of facility network monitoring software or devices to provide proactive monitoring and alert notifications of mission critical assets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will be a point of escalation for Network Engineer on troubleshooting issues for network equipment and related resources.
  • Develop a preventive maintenance plan for network devices and perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance of the network, systems, and components according to the plan.
  • Gathers network information for trending, works with Network Engineer and Project Managers in testing equipment for production deployment.
  • Develop plans for any event that affects the network, and coordinate with and gain approval from the MCITS Government Lead prior to implementation.
  • Must be able to research, design, plan and implement architectures with fault tolerance, performance tuning, monitoring systems, statistics/metrics collection and disaster recovery.
  • Assist with new MCITS projects affecting network operations IAW current DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
  • Must be able to manage changing priorities and workloads.
  • Provide support to both internal and external customers on an as needed basis.
  • Provide support for after-hours support operations and system maintenance that may occur.
  • Performs other job related duties as required.

Supervisory/Management Authority

  • This position will direct the activities of other technical staff, providing training as needed.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors / Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent. Certifications in multiple technology areas are required. 
  • Thorough knowledge with DoD audit readiness requirements and RMF.
  • Must have seven (7) years network administration and engineering experience in a large enterprise environment.
  • Must have five (5) years’ experience updating Cisco firewall access control lists (ACL) and NAC in a large enterprise (5000+user) environment.
  • Must have five (5) years’ experience in the management and configuration of Intrusion Prevention/Intrusion Detection System (IPS/IDS) i.e.Cisco Stealthwatch and Firepower.
  • Must have five (5) years’ experience installing, configuring and managing datacenter infrastructure, switches, routers, CAT6 and fiber cabling.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Virtual Local Area Network (VLANs), Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), Radius, Terminal Access Controller Access Control System (TACACS)+, DNS and DHCP.
  • Thorough knowledge supporting the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of the following: Cisco Nexus 7000, 5000, 2000 series datacenter switches. Including, but not limited to Cisco 3750, 4500 switches and ISR 1000, 4300 and 4400 series.
  • Must have experience in upgrading Cisco IOS of multiple networking equipment (including 9 Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), routers and switches) to eliminate security vulnerabilities.
  • Experience utilizing SecureCRT, Wireshark and Solarwinds.
  • Experience with current Cisco Call Manager and Contact Center.
  • Current Security+ Certification.
  • Experience in assembling technical documents and providing detailed analysis of various business system functions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Project Management, Power Point and Visio.
  • Must possess IT-II security certification.
  • Expert Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications preferred.
  • Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Wireless certification preferred.
  • Current Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification preferred.

  • This position is primarily performed in a climate controlled office setting.
