SUMMARY

The Operations General Manager is the overall leader, manager and administrator for all efforts of the company. The Operations General Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate company operations ensuring company objectives are timely met. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Manages daily operations and plans the use of materials and human resources.
  • Prepare and review project schedules, budgets, and recommends technical and management solutions to technical problems that arise during project execution to the individual program managers.
  • Provide leadership and assistance to their team members.
  • Responsible for implementing controls over spending and procurements to ensure adherence to the company budget.
  • Monitors and directs daily operations to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that services are being provided efficiently and effectively; takes corrective action as necessary; personally handles the most difficult, sensitive or controversial projects for the company.
  • Formulates company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for business planning and operational excellence.
  • Assist with development of solutions to operational problems.
  • Prepares contracts and bids; estimates costs and makes schedules; and ensures projects stay within budget. Negotiate contract renewals/extensions with existing customers.
  • Understands the technical problems and can formulate the best resources to resolve and complete technical issues.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to achieve the company's long-term goals and objectives.
  • Monitors and tracks the performance and achievements of the employees as well of the entire company.
  • Responsible for matters related to finance and transactions are within his supervision.
  • Resolve all customer concerns directly or through direct reports and provide feedback to management.
  • Provide regular updates to the Sector EGM on customer/department issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

    Leads multiple program directors and managers by providing leadership for employee through effective communications, coaching, training, establishing goals and developing employees and leaders. Position may manage multiple projects without having direct supervisory responsibilities.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    A Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field with eight to ten (8-10) years of experience with implementing and managing federal contracts, project management, or related field is required. Top Secret Clearance or above is required.

  • Broad understanding of member/customer interaction contact points.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills in driving enterprise level initiatives and engagement with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to successfully collaborate and influence across multiple functions and key stakeholders to achieve desired goals.
  • Requires extensive cross-group coordination at all levels, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build internal/external relationships.
  • Understanding of key best practices relating to delivery of services and technology.
  • Strong business acumen and analytic skills with an understanding of financials.
  • Ability to prioritize, lead and manage multiple projects and tasks to successful completion.
  • Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style while maintaining a commitment to accomplishing goals.
  • Strong time management, planning and problem solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications.
  • Must have good analytical skills, attention to details, self-motivation and organization skills.
  • Ability to self-direct in a challenging and ambiguous environment is required.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This position is primarily performed in a climate controlled office setting. May also require occasional travel by car or plane.
