SUMMARY

Develop cost effective, efficient and high quality process build instructions for electrical harness and electro-mechanical assemblies. Interface with pre-production and production cross-functional teams to ensure developed processes, tools and equipment produce a production-ready product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Develop Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI).
  • Create routings and BOMS in an ERP & MES system.
  • Ensures drawings, specifications, work instructions and test processes meets customer & company requirements.
  • Interacts with customers to obtain and provide technical information.
  • Create reports and status project updates.
  • Create labor standard hours/Time-Standards.
  • Interpret engineering and technical information.
  • Designs wire harness build board and coordination of test requirements.
  • Creates and maintains new design data. 
  • Supports implementation/evolution of ERS, DPD and MBD.
  • Supports Engineering & Manufacturing technology roadmap.
  • Researches and reviews specifications for RFQs.
  • Performs tooling reviews and capability analysis.
  • Develops, reviews and approves quoted bill of materials & cost analysis.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

No supervisory or management authority.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge, skills and understanding of the principles and practice of engineering.
  • Able to identify and resolve pre-production issues
  • Experience with CAD software to interpret model based definition.
  • Experience with wire harness 2D and 3D design, wire harness installation drawings and build board creation, wiring diagrams.
  • General wire harness analysis, testing and qualification experience.
  • Wire harness component selection and qualification experience.
  • Knowledge of aerospace specifications.
  • Capability to solve complex design problems with minimal supervision.
  • Strong ability to work with teams with a proven ability to effectively interact and collaborate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven and demanding start-up environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability and drive to succeed.
  • PLM experience/Creation and Maintenance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While the job will be based in an office environment, it will be required to spend time in a manufacturing environment. Travel is required including occasional overnights. Must be able to distinguish all colors and have depth perception.
