SUMMARY

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Center for State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Support (CSTLTS) supports cross-agency activities and efforts to improve public health at the state, tribal, local and territorial levels by building capacity in public health infrastructure and practice, resource and asset management, performance and accountability, workforce development and shared leadership to improve public health outcomes.

CSTLTS is in need of a Program Analyst for Partnership Development, Stakeholder Management, and Issues Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Lead global health portfolio for Public Health Law Program
  • Serve as a technical advisor in public health law to the CDC’s Center for Global Health (CGH) to apply legal epidemiology methodologies to research and analyze global public health laws
  • Support the development of legal frameworks for global public health areas based on country/partner needs (for example: lab biosafety and biosecurity, infection prevention and control) and facilitate stakeholder engagement to support country-driven policy initiatives
  • Support CSTLTS and CGH in developing and fostering partnerships through consultation, technical assistance and trainings with internal and external groups
  • Performs other job related duties as required

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory or management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) required in this field of expertise.
  • Previous experience with CDC CSTLTS programs, policies and procedures highly desired.
  • 2+ years relevant experience; preferably with CDC programs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to effectively collaborate with others
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to coordinate and perform multiple tasks concurrently
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible and adapt well to a changing environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is conducted in a climate controlled office environment.
  • The environment may require prolonged sitting, prolonged standing, and light lifting up to 20 lbs.
