SUMMARY

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. DLA provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. It also provides logistics support to other DoD Components and certain Federal agencies, foreign governments, international organizations, and others as authorized.

Cherokee Nation Management and Consulting seeks a Business Analyst (Project Engineer II) for an Internal Control Review team assisting DLA Installation Management. This position includes assisting with programmatic evaluation and policy development. To ensure organizational results and client objectives are met, said Project Engineer will be required to report on risks, processes, and associated Property, Plant and Equipment (PP&E) systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use quantitative and qualitative methods to create analytical reports in Excel.
  • Monitor and analyze relevant PP&E policy, procedures, and process cycle memorandums to identify gaps and recommend course of actions.
  • Participate in internal control assessments and evaluate effectiveness of the controls over financial reporting for general property.
  • Improve efficiency and effectiveness of DLA processes by preparing PP&E operation and procedure manuals.
  • Evaluate and identify potential organizational risks and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Compile data from multiple sources to create integrated views that can be used to drive DLA Installation Management senior leader decision-making.

  • Superior organizational skills required with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

This position does not have supervisory authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or similar.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, continuous process improvement, internal control assessments, or other federal financial management areas.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, background check and pass a drug screen

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office work exclusively with no travel outside the local area
