Job Description:

The Project Manager will:

  • Collaborate with Stack Holders to achieve maximum project return on investment and meet project objectives
  • Work with Stack Holders and other colleagues to refine product requirements and validate functionality and data accuracy
  • Manage sprint planning and execution, which includes the management of project progress, and provide status and visibility
  • Participate in release planning and scheduling, identify project dependencies and creating velocity forecasts
  • Identify and manage cross-team dependencies
  • Ensure high throughput of development team by identifying potential issues and roadblocks and working on preventing or eliminating them
  • Work with Stake Holders, Business Analysts, Architects and UI designers to plan and ensure product backlog is prioritized, groomed, and has sufficient detail so that it is ready to be worked on by the Team to avoid any downtime, ambiguity or rework
  • Organize and conduct daily Stand Up meetings
  • Facilitate issue resolution within the team
  • Work in cross-functional project teams that include Development, Product Management, Business Analysts, UI and Quality Assurance
  • Create and maintain release burn downs in order to create project visibility and enable timely project adjustments

Supervisory/Management Authority:

This position does not have management authority or supervisory capacity

Education and Experience:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related curriculum at an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years’ experience in complex software development programs
  • Experience with Software Development project life cycles
  • Experience working with a development team
  • Experience working in an Agile development process.
  • Experience with using and configuring JIRA.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid oral, written and presentation skills
  • Proven record of accomplishment of being a strong team player with a results oriented attitude
  • Self-starter able to work well in new and undefined environments
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies tools and processes.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily performed in a secured federal office setting, a controlled office environment
