SUMMARY

Cherokee Nation Management & Consulting is seeking a Project Manager to in support of a procurement/logistics project for the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Bogotá, Colombia.

The U.S. Department of State is the lead institution for the conduct of American diplomacy and the Secretary of state is the President’s principal foreign policy advisor. The Department of State’s mission is to advance U.S. national security interests, fight terrorism, protect U.S. interests abroad, and implement foreign policy initiatives that build a freer, prosperous and secure world.

INL is under the Under Secretary for Democracy and Human Rights (J) and works to keep Americans safe at home by countering international crime, illegal drugs, and instability abroad. INL helps countries deliver justice and fairness by strengthening their police, courts, and corrections systems. These efforts reduce the amount of crime and illegal drugs reaching U.S. shores.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Responsible for managing the implementation of projects or programs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the actions taken by an organization to acquire and execute a specific piece of business, either competitively or non-competitively.
  • Integrate all functions and activities necessary to perform the project/program to meet the client or customer requirements.
  • Plan and implement actions by the program/project team to define and implement technical baseline and meet quality requirements for project/program products and services.
  • Direct project/program team personnel, manage cost and schedule, ensure contract compliance, and serve as program interface.
  • Responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, and tracking all aspects of the project/program, including technology, schedule, cost, contract and customer satisfaction.
  • Interfaces with task and functional leaders, subcontractors, support personnel, customer and upper management.
  • Responsible for managing small to moderate risk project/program with responsibility for managing many tasks or functions of a single project/program.
  • Performs other job related duties as required.
 
  • SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
  • This position will supervise the project team.
 
  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 20 years’ experience, focused on international work in support of the U.S. Federal Government, required
  • Department of State experience preferred
  • Experience in Bogotá, Colombia preferred
 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Spanish language skills preferred
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work will be performance in both office and warehouse environment.
