Job Title:  Property and Technology Lead, Washington, DC (ID#14945)

We are seeking an experienced Technology Lead to assist the project manager with mobile workspace planning, technology integration, audio/visual space design, furniture and logistical support for the CBP Mission Support Facilities Program Management Office.  This position provides support in management, control, coordination, and execution of projects involving complex and long-term leasing, space acquisition, and/or construction management.  Candidates should be well-rounded, effective communicators able to work independently and meet aggressive deadlines.

  • Survey project locations and recommend solutions to integrate IT technology to ensure workplace compatibility. 
  • Provide space-planning solutions to ensure compatibility of computer hardware, audiovisual components, furniture design and layouts.
  • Assist with reviewing construction and space-planning drawings to ensure technology and furniture planning are consistent with project requirements. 
  • Provide project team coordination for finished plans to ensure logistics of IT components and furniture are coordinated with the project move schedules.
  • Perform support functions as directed to meet the budget, schedule and project design goals.
  • Collaborate with project team members to ensure compliance with Agency technology procurement requirements and policies.
  • Perform inventory, occupancy, and technology use studies to plan for future mobile work environments.   
  • Assist with IT procurement process including researching cost and requirements for pc hardware, network, audiovisual components, IT peripheral equipment, furniture, and other office equipment. 
  • Ensure technology components integrate with finished workspaces, conference rooms, mobile touchdown areas, and meeting spaces.
  • Investigate and resolve technology integration issues.
  • Develop project briefings and presentations for senior management.
  • Maintain and organize project files, invoices, estimates, and vendor information.


This position has no supervisory or management authority


  • 5 years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience or familiarity with technology procurement and installation
  • Experience coordinating the following facility planning requirements:
  • IT procurement and configuration
  • Furniture procurement and configuration
  • Office move logistics planning
  • Ability to read facility drawings
  • Familiarity with MS Project
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment


  • Knowledge/experience with various planning concepts to include office hoteling, desk sharing, and team sharing areas
  • Experience working as a contractor for federal agencies, specifically Department of Homeland Security


The majority of this work is conducted in an office environment.  Telework schedule as approved by the client. Some local travel within the National Capital Region will be required to oversee various projects.
