Public Health Advisor/Analyst – MID

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Office for State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Support (OSTLTS) supports cross-agency activities and efforts to improve public health at the state, tribal, local and territorial levels by building capacity in public health infrastructure and practice, resource and asset management, performance and accountability, workforce development and shared leadership to improve public health outcomes.

OSTLTS is in need of a Public Health Advisor/Analyst for Partnership Development, Stakeholder Management, and Issues Management

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support OSTLTS in developing and fostering partnerships through consultation, technical assistance, and training on program and project implementation with internal and external groups.
• Research and develop responses to issues and inquiries.
• Assist with planning, development, and execution of standard operating procedures and improvements on cross-cutting priority areas, such as project officer development, CDC field staff development, and overall grants optimization.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and report on plans and actions for/from select agency-wide workgroup activities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • J.D. required 
  • 7+ years' experience in a public health setting
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in law or policy
  • Previous experience with CDC CSTLTS programs, policies and procedures highly desired

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Conduct legal epidemiology surveillance
  • Ability to examine how laws and policies address public health issues
  • SharePoint
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, to include Word. Excel and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
