CNSP is looking for a Publication/Documentation Specialist shall provide support in managing the expanding portfolio addressing all documentation and publication requirements for the Countermeasures Directorate, or its Offices, Divisions, Branches, or programs. They will manage wide variety of documents, subjects and publications.  They may be called upon to work with government/contactor Subject Matter Experts and Program Managers to determine the best method of drafting and producing documents for their programs and projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft, edit, rewrite documents
  • Create operational SOPs, and style guides along with presentation
  • Provide background documents for senior management
  • Upload documents to production environments, shared sites and SharePoint sites
  • Assist in other office documents and taskers as assigned
  • They will edit, draft, and assure that grammar and content are maintained according to Department standards and guidance
  • The incumbent will be responsible for the lifecycle of all documentation posted from start to finish, and have the expertise and ability to retrieve and categorize/store archived documents. 
  • They will assist in the creation of a library to store new and historical documents. 
  • May be called upon to work with government/contactor Subject Matter Experts and Program Managers to determine the best method of drafting and producing documents for their programs and projects and work with program managers in the program office to assist with the planning and distribution of materials for any of the following tasks:
  • Activity Management Review
  • Take draft documents and rewrite to final, consistent with acknowledged style guidance
  • Create documents after interviewing subject matter experts
  • Format and prepare for publishing documents and articles and store on program’s SharePoint site
  • Upload documents to production environments, share sites and online content managers as required
  • Update SharePoint sites on a periodic basis to maintain a library of documents and images.
  • Ability to work as a technical writer and able to manage a wide variety of documents, subjects and publications; consistent with the needs of the various offices

Supervisory/Management Authority:

  • This position will not have supervisory or management authority

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related fields, library sciences, communications and five (5) to seven (7) years as a Technical Writer
  • Experience in project management, PMP is preferred but not required
  • Experience with correct handling of classified and sensitive documents in accordance with federal government regulations

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Candidate is required to have an active and current SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret and SCI clearance if needed for the position
  • Candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and a federal government background investigation.
  • The incumbent must be a motivated individual that can work independently, and as a team-member in drafting, editing and posting documents for global Department, and agencies use.
  • They will be required to edit, draft, and assure that English language grammar and content are maintained according to Department standards and guidance. 
  • Responsible for the lifecycle of all documentation posted from start to finish, and to retrieve and categorize/store archived documents. 
  • Assist in the creation of a library to store new and historical documents. 
  • Knowledge of and the management of SharePoint content is a key element of this position, therefore, skills in SharePoint are a requirement for tracking, storing and publicizing documents.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), and Adobe Pro;

  • This position is primarily performed in a secured federal office setting, a controlled office environment
