Cherokee Nation Aerospace & Defense is looking for a Quality Manager for its Plant in Pryor, OK. This exciting opportunity will leverage the candidate’s leadership ability and experience in quality management.

Cherokee Nation Aerospace & Defense is a contract manufacturer and integrator of electro-mechanical assemblies, including distribution, kitting and the manufacturing of cable and wire harness assemblies. The CNAD manufacturing team is experienced with projects that require expertise in medium to complex integration of ground support, test, flight hardware and armament systems. CNAD is ISO9000:2000 and AS 9100 certified and can serve as a prime contractor on Department of Defense contracts or as a sub-contractor to large aerospace primes. CNAD has the unique ability to team with other Cherokee owned tribal companies or partner with other companies to accommodate large complex contract opportunities. SUMMARY

Oversees all aspects of quality assurance functions, systems, implementation and training to meet or exceed required industry standards such as ISO 9001:20015 / AS9100:2016. Responsible for the development and maintenance, of quality documentation and standards, ensuring that the company complies with and exceeds all customer quality and specification requirements. Interfaces with operational and cross-functional areas to ensure consistency and adherence to quality needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Oversees all aspects of quality assurance functions and systems to meet or exceed required industry standards including ISO 9001:20015 / AS9100:2016.
  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of quality requirements in the manufacturing process.
  • Develops and maintains quality assurance manual and procedures.
  • Determines the methods and means necessary for movement and/or disposal of defective materials.
  • Interface with operational and cross-functional areas to ensure consistency in reporting practices and to help determine quality needs and training.
  • Manages internal and third-party supplier and accreditation quality audits as needed.
  • Aids in the formulation and implementation of product packaging instructions.
  • May serve as management representative during Quality System Review.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

Supervise/manage a department and have authority over hiring/firing/performance decisions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or other related technical field and 5 years quality experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of industry quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lead, manage and mentor team members.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings and technical descriptions.
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and applicable systems/software.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, possess interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate programs to throughout the organization.
  • Ability to identify problems and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement appropriate solutions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While this position is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting, it will frequently spend time in a manufacturing environment.  Occasional travel and overnight stay may be required.
