We are seeking a Web Developer – front-end web development to assist in the management and maintenance of the USCG Coast Guard – Logistics Information Management System Surface Technical Information Portal (CG-LIMS STIP).

Responsibilities:

  • Publish technical data products including 3D Models, Engineering Drawings, Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPCs), Time Compliant Technical Orders (TCTOs), Technical Publications, Illustrated parts Breakdowns (IPBs), and other non-enterprise documents as an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM).
  • Develop process guides and workflow diagrams detailing plans for transition and sustainment of Electronic Tech Manuals.
  • Perform reviews and analysis for Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables of Technical Manuals.
  • Provide detailed reports as needed to outline issues and deficiencies found in submissions.
  • Support the Government Lead in providing training to staff on S1000D, XML, IETM Management and any other pertinent topics. Consult with the customer and provide advice on policy development, planning, and implementation
  • Support IETMs within the constraints of the Coast Guard Data Network (CGDN).
  • Perform other job related duties as required

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience with front-end web development is required.
  • Proficiency in HyperText Markup Language – HTML – is required.
  • Proficiency in Cascading Style Sheets – CSS – is required.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript is required.
  • Experience developing, revising, and analyzing XML content is a plus.
  • Familiarity with XML and IETM Management is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products to develop written documents, track requirements, and complete other project specific tasks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are mandatory.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is highly desired; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Work Environment:

Office work environment.

The Technical Information Management Branch is a part of the Surface Forces Logistics Center’s Engineering Services Division located in Baltimore Maryland and is comprised of two sections: Drawings & Graphics Support Section, (DGSS); and Publication Production & Distribution Section, (PPDS). TIMB was established to support the missions of the SFLC and C4IT Service Center communities through the acquisition, development, maintenance and distribution of current and accurate technical information and data. TIMB is responsible for the Coast Guard-Logistics Information Management System Surface Technical Information Portal database hosting, management and maintenance.

 

Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen.
